Mother Temple of Hindu Bali, is Pura Besakih, or the Besakih temple, covering  a vast area that offers  breathtaking mountain scenery surrounding this beautiful and artistic temple complex. Pura Besakih is located at the southern slope of mount Agung, the largest and highest mountain in Bali. Pura Besakih is not a single temple, but a complex of temples spread over a large area. The largest temple is the Penataran Agung, where the main ceremony is usually performed. The temple is open for visitors daily from 08.00 to 17.00, except during Nyepi (Silent Day). Visitors are required to wear proper dress to enter the temple Traditional Balinese sarongs are also available for rent. Entrance fee is about 1 USD.
